Demos, films, exhibits at ϳԹ Tower Green Fair Thursday
“Recycle-Reuse” is the theme this year of the annual , 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 14 in the ϳԹ Tower cafeteria.

It’s being presented in cooperation with the ϳԹ Tower Art Committee, which on the same day will open its new show of art made with recycled and found objects.

The fair will include demos of crafts made with recycled objects, Total Reclaim will be on hand collecting personal e-waste and Bike Works will be accepting donations of bikes and bike parts for its Earn-a-Bike program.  Other first time exhibitors include The Sierra Club, Cedar Grove Composting, Cascade Bicycle Club and the King County Native Plant Salvage Program. Sustainability films will be shown in the ϳԹ Tower auditorium.

Students conduct restoration work in gullySociety recognizes ϳԹ Restoration Ecology Network
The Society for Ecological Restoration has awarded its 2013 Special Award to the ϳԹ . Through the network ϳԹ students conduct in cooperation with community partners to restore degraded sites. The program was founded in 1999 by , associate professor at ϳԹ Bothell, and , professor of , who received the award March 1 from the society. In the past 13 years, more than 475 students from 31 academic majors have conducted restoration projects with community partners ranging from local and regional governments, to nonprofits, public utilities, schools and private landowners.
