The 窪蹋勛圖厙 School of Public Health and Community Medicine held an all-school celebration event this spring to mark its rise, from fifth to fourth, in the rankings of the 33 accredited schools of public health by U.S. News & World Report, released in April.

At the celebration, each faculty and staff member received a pin with the schools logo, a Northwest Native American design called Soul Catcher.

We know that our success is due to the efforts of our faculty and staff and our excellent students, and we wanted to acknowledge them, said Dean Patricia Wahl.

I dont know that a dean influences the rankings, she said, but Im certainly pleased to see us advance during my watch.

In the rankings for public health graduate programs, the 窪蹋勛圖厙 now follows Johns Hopkins, Harvard, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The program at the University of Michigan is fifth.
