The Award
The Excellence in Global Engagement Award is an annual Awards of Excellence award that honors faculty and staff at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø for their leadership in global engagement. The award alternates each year between faculty and staff honorees. The 2026 award will honor a ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø staff member who has led or undertaken activities that connect ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students, faculty, and staff to global communities locally, nationally, or internationally.
The award is the highest recognition for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø faculty and staff who make significant contributions to global engagement at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and carries a $5,000 stipend.
Nominations for the 2026 award opened on September 29, 2025.Â
Criteria
The award seeks to honor ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø staff who have accomplished one or more of the following:
- Facilitated cross-cultural and/or international communication and interaction;
- Made international programming at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø more accessible, diverse, and inclusive;
- Demonstrated innovative thinking and initiative in developing and implementing global engagement activities, projects, or programs.
Eligibility
All current ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø staff (with at least 50% FTE).
How to Nominate
Fill out with the nominee’s name, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø email, and department or office. Accessing through ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Net ID is required. Sharing your name to the nominee is optional.
All current ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø faculty, staff, and students can nominate.
Note: ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø staff may self-nominate.
Important Dates
- September 29, 2025: Nominations open
- November 30, 2025: Nominations due
- May 2026: Award recipient announced
- June 2026: Award recipient honored at annual Awards of Excellence Ceremony
