On December 1, don’t forget to tune in to channel 27 to catch the latest edition of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø 360, a half-hour magazine-style show profiling fascinating people and programs at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø that are changing our world. Hosted by Samantha Rund, the program airs at 10 pm each Wednesday, with new episodes debuting the first week of each month. In December, viewers can meet the Husky Women’s Basketball team; tour campus with a visit to the salmon homing pond; take a look at a unique summer camp for students with disabilities; follow undergraduate oceanographers out onto Puget Sound; learn about a student project linked to earthquake relief in China; and experience a century of modern dance with performances by the Chamber Dance Company.
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø has been named to the 2009 , the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is the only public, 4-year institution in Washington state to receive this recognition this year. (Community Service Honor Roll recipients for 2010 will be named in 2011.)
