Gray Eminence
William H. Gray III, president and chief executive officer of the , will speak at the 126th ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Commencement exercises held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9 at Husky Stadium. The fund is the oldest and most successful black higher education assistance organization in the country. Gray has headed the organization since 1991. Before that, he was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. He was chairman of the Democratic Caucus and Majority Whip, making him the highest-ranking African American ever to serve in Congress. The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø has invited more than 9,000 students to graduate at the ceremony, which is open to the public. The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Tacoma commencement will be held at 4 p.m., June 8 in the Tacoma Dome featuring guest speaker mountain climber Lou Whittaker. The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Bothell Commencement will be held at 2 p.m., June 10 in Hec Edmundson Pavilion and features guest speaker Yolanda T. Moses, president of the American Association for Higher Education.
